DESCRIPTION

Max Recruitment is currently hiring HGV Class 1 Traction & Store Delivery Drivers for on-call, part-time work with one of our trusted business clients operating at Tesco Thurrock Depot (RM19 1ND).

Drivers will collect a tractor unit from one of the designated yards — Botany Way (Purfleet), Tank Hill Road, or Dagenham Dock — and drive solo to the Tesco Thurrock Transport Office.

Once on site, you will be assigned a pre-loaded trailer that needs to be delivered to Tesco stores across the region.

Deliveries may involve a single-store drop or multi-drop routes.

Main duties include:

  • Collecting and returning tractor units to the correct yard.

  • Driving to Tesco Thurrock depot and collecting assigned trailers.

  • Delivering to one or multiple Tesco stores as instructed.

  • Unloading cages and managing empty returns (no heavy manual loading).

  • Following all operational instructions shared via WhatsApp.

All shift details, delivery information, and updates will be communicated directly through the WhatsApp group with our client.

Shifts are typically up to 12 hours maximum (often shorter), with no more than 200 miles per shift.

This role offers 3–4 shifts per week, depending on workload — not a full-time ongoing position.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.

  • Driving licence must be held for a minimum of 2 years.

  • Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.

  • Minimum 6 months of UK driving experience.

  • Ability to follow written and digital instructions in English.

  • Professional, reliable, and flexible availability.
