HGV CLASS 1 TRACTION DRIVER – GIST (M & S DEPOTS)

Gist Depots – Gist Faversham / Gist Enfield /Gist Hemel Hempstead

£190 per shift

Description:

Max Recruitment is hiring HGV Class 1 Traction Drivers for on-call, part-time work servicing Gist depots on behalf of our Trusted Partner.

Drivers will collect a tractor unit from one of our designated yards — Botany Way (Purfleet), Tank Hill Road, or Dagenham Dock — and proceed solo to one of the Gist depots listed below:

  • Gist Faversham

  • Gist Enfield

  • Gist Hemel Hempstead

Once on site, you’ll collect one pre-loaded trailer and deliver it to the designated destination.

This position is traction only, and unloading is involved.

Main duties include:

  • Collect and return tractor units to the correct yard.

  • Drive solo to one of the Gist depots (Faversham, Enfield, or Hemel Hempstead).

  • Collect and deliver one trailer per shift.

  • Perform unloading cages is required.

  • Follow all operational instructions provided via WhatsApp.

Shifts are usually no longer than 10 hours, depending on route and traffic.

This is not a full-time ongoing position – typically 3–4 shifts per week, based on demand.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.

  • Licence held for a minimum of 2 years (mandatory).

  • Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.

  • Minimum 6 months of UK Class 1 driving experience.

  • Good understanding of English and ability to follow digital instructions.

  • Reliable, professional, and punctual.
