HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER – CONTAINER WORK (NIGHT SHIFT)

DESCRIPTION

Max Recruitment is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Container Drivers for night shifts operating from one of our trusted client’s yards in Dagenham Dock.

This role involves container haulage between ports and delivery points across the region.

Drivers will collect the truck and skelly trailer from the Dagenham Dock yard and complete assignments as instructed.

This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become a full-time permanent position.

Main duties include:

• Collecting truck and skelly trailer from Dagenham Dock yard.

• Transporting containers to and from ports or delivery sites.

• Ensuring all documentation and port procedures are followed correctly.

• Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any issues.

• Communicating with the operations team via WhatsApp.

There is no loading or unloading required for this role.

Shifts are around 12 hours, occasionally extending up to 15 hours, with overtime paid after 12 hours.

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.

• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.

• Minimum 3 Months of UK driving experience (Class 1).

• Experience with container work (mandatory).

• London Gateway Port Card (mandatory).

• Tilbury Port experience (mandatory).

• Professional, reliable, and comfortable working night shifts.
