HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER – CURTAIN SIDE TRAILERS

DESCRIPTION

Max Recruitment is hiring HGV Class 1 Drivers for full-time curtain side trailer work with one of our trusted logistics partners based in the Grays / West Thurrock area.

This role involves general haulage across the UK using curtain side trailers, transporting palletised goods safely and efficiently.

There is no heavy manual loading or unloading — your duties will focus on securing loads, opening/closing curtains, and performing safe deliveries.

Main duties include:

• Driving curtain side trailers for general haulage deliveries and collections.

• Ensuring loads are secured safely and correctly.

• Opening and closing curtains when required.

• Conducting daily vehicle checks and completing all paperwork accurately.

• Staying in contact with the transport team via WhatsApp or phone.

Shifts are usually up to 12 hours per day,  overtime is paid after 12 hours and 45 minutes.

This is a full-time permanent position, offering consistent, reliable work from Monday to Friday (with occasional weekend shifts available).

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.

• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.

• Licence held for a minimum of 1 year (mandatory).

• Minimum 6 months of UK Class 1 experience.

• Experience with curtain side trailers preferred.

• Professional, reliable, and punctual.
