HGV CLASS 1 TRACTION DRIVER – SAINSBURY’S DARTFORD

Max Recruitment, in partnership with our trusted contractor Jane Butler, is hiring HGV Class 1 Traction & Store Delivery Drivers to operate from the Sainsbury’s Dartford Depot.

Drivers will collect a tractor unit from one of our agreed yards (Botany Way / Tank Hill Road / Dagenham Dock) and drive solo to the Sainsbury’s Dartford Transport Office. On arrival, you’ll be assigned a pre-loaded trailer for delivery to Sainsbury’s stores. Routes may be single-store or multi-drop, as instructed.

Key duties:

• Collect and return tractor units to the correct yard.

• Report to Sainsbury’s Dartford transport office and collect the assigned trailer.

• Deliver to one or multiple Sainsbury’s stores as scheduled.

• Unload roll cages and manage empties/returns (no heavy handballing of loose goods).

• Follow all route/operational instructions shared via the WhatsApp group.

All shift details and updates are communicated via WhatsApp. Shifts are max 12 hours (often less) and max 200 miles per shift. This is not a full-time ongoing role; availability typically allows 3–4 shifts per week.

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.

• Licence held for a minimum of 2 years (mandatory).

• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.

• Able to follow written/digital instructions in English.

• Professional, reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
